IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

CLASSROOM ASSIGNMENTS FOR 2019 - 2020
A great deal of thought, effort, and time is put into the composition of classes.  Teams of teachers and staff consider academics, behavior, social, and emotional needs, ratio of males and females, and also the learning needs and styles of students.  We also take into consideration that teachers will have opportunities to apply for open positions within the district and building, making it difficult to have certainty of staff for the fall.  Historically, families have put in writing their requests.  We will consider requests as they relate to academics and learning styles, yet we can not guarantee placement as we must balance classes for all students.  The Bauer team collaborates to create class lists during after school meetings prior to June.  Please feel free to call the office with questions or clarification.

ANNUAL OPERATING MILLAGE RENEWAL PROPOSAL
On May 7, Hudsonville School parents and community members will have the chance to vote on our
annual Non-Homestead Millage renewal. This is an annual renewal request that voters have approved
for the past 24 years and, if approved, would generate approximately $4.8 million dollars of operating
revenue for our school district. Please note, this is not a tax on primary residences and is not a new tax.

Official ballot language is as follows:

Hudsonville Public Schools Operating Millage Renewal Proposal

This proposal will allow the school district to continue to levy the statutory rate of not to exceed
18 mills on all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, required for
the school district to receive its revenue per pupil foundation allowance.

Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except principal
residence and other  property exempted by law, in Hudsonville Public Schools, Ottawa and Allegan
Counties, Michigan, be increased by 18 mills ($18.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for the
year 2019, to provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district
will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2019 is approximately $4,850,000 (this is a
renewal of millage that expired with the 2018 tax levy)?

These activities and promotions are NOT sponsored by Hudsonville Public Schools. Activities and promotions are listed as a service to the Hudsonville Public School community.
