BAUER BITS 1/10/2020

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THESE UPCOMING EVENTS:
JANUARY 14 - Jet's Pizza Night (Don't forget to mention your classroom teacher's name!)
JANUARY 15 & 16 - The Ottawa County Health Department will be administering Hearing Tests for grades K, 2nd, 4th.
JANUARY 20 & 21 - The Ottawa County Health Department will be administering Vision Tests for grades 1st, 3rd, 5th.
JANUARY 24 - Popcorn Day and Wacky Hair Day!
JANUARY 28 - PK/K Information Night for the 2020-21 school year at Bauer 7:00 pm.  Please see details below.
JANUARY 31 - EARLY RELEASE DAY (Dismissal at 12:15 pm)/Students wear their Bauer T-Shirts.
FEBRUARY 3 & 4 - NO SCHOOL

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

PREKINDERGARTEN/KINDERGARTEN ROUND UP FOR THE 2020-21 SCHOOL YEAR
There will be an optional informative meeting at Bauer Elementary, Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at 7:00 pm for parents interested in enrolling their child for PreK/Kindergarten next year.  If you have a child in PreK at Bauer this year, you do not need to attend this meeting.  All current PreK students will move up to Kindergarten next year.  This is not a required meeting.  Online registration will be available January 24, 2020.  (Paper copy enrollment forms will be available January 13, 2020 if needed)  Please call Mrs. Opple at 616-669-6824 with questions.   

VOLUNTEER BACKGROUND CHECKS
If you plan to help in a classroom or attend a field trip, you must complete a Volunteer Background Check.  Please click on Volunteer Background Check to do so.  Thanks!

HPS Early Childhood Programs -Open House Information Night for the 2020-21 School Year and Summer.
Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at the Early Childhood Center from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Early Childhood Center is located at 5535 School Ave. (main entrance off Madison Ave.)
Programs include 3-year-old and 4-year-old Preschool, Before/After School Care, and Summer Care.
*This is a chance to gather information about the programs, meet staff, and visit preschool classrooms.  There will be NO registration this night. Registration will take place online, with the link being active January 22, 2020, at noon.
The link to register for all programs can be found through the Hudsonville Public Schools website, under the Early Childhood Programs tab.  Please note that enrollment fills quickly.

BOX TOPS
Our Bauer Parent Club just received a Box Tops check for $603.30!  Thanks to all your efforts saving, cutting, and turning the little Box Tops into Bauer.  THANK YOU to Jessica Troost for all her work in cutting and organizing this fund raiser.

2020 Hudsonville Boys Youth Lacrosse Registration is Now Open!  
Registration ends on January 31, 2020.
Pre-K through 2nd-grade registration fee is $95.  All Pre-K through 2nd grade receive a free lacrosse stick to keep and will be provided equipment to use throughout the season.
3rd through 8th-grade registration fee is $200.

Baton Twirling Classes 
Dates: Every Wednesday beginning February 5, 2020, and ending May 27, 2020
Times: Ages 4-7, 6:15-7:00 p.m.   Ages 8-18, 7:00-7:45 p.m.
Registration: On February 5th at the first class
Location: Georgetown United Methodist Church Gymnasium, 2766 Baldwin Street, Jenison
Cost: $8/week to be paid at each class.  $7 registration fee to be paid at first class.  Batons will be available for purchase at class for $26.  Payment plans are available.
