BAUER BITS 12/21/18

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THESE UPCOMING EVENTS:

DECEMBER 24-JANUARY 4 - Holiday Break (school resumes on January 7, 2019).

JANUARY 11 - Early Release (12:15 pm dismissal), wear your Bauer T-shirt.

JANUARY 15 - Marco's Pizza Night, Bauer Parent Club Meeting at 7:00 pm.

JANUARY 18 - Spirit Day/Wear your favorite sport attire and Popcorn Day.

JANUARY 24 - PK/K Registration Meeting for the 2019-20 school year at Bauer - 7:00 pm.  If your child is already a PK student at Bauer, you do not need to enroll again.  Your student will be placed in Kindergarten for the next year at Bauer.

SECRET SANTA SHOP
Thank you to our amazing Secret Santa Shop committee - Jessica Steigenga-coordinator, Sara Kersaan, Alisha Slotman, Jessica Llewellyn, Stephanie VanRhee, and Katelyn Gates.  Also, thank you to Jessica Troost, Lindsay Tuttle, Catherine Rische, Kay Poortenga, and everyone else who donated time and supplies.  This committee shops year round to make this successful and fun for our students.

YOUTH LACROSS REGISTRATION
Registration for Boys Youth Lacrosse Grades K-8 is Open as of December 1, 2018, for early registration.  Registration continues from January 1-January 31, 2019 with a LATE FEE!

Registration for Girls Youth Lacrosse Grades 3-8 is Open as of December 1, 2018, for early registration.  Registration continues from January 1, -January 31, 2019, with a LATE FEE!

Because we understand December can get very expensive, NO fees are due until Feb 1, 2019, so there is no reason not to sign up NOW! 
(It helps us plan and schedule games when we have a general idea of the number of players/teams we will have in the coming season)

Sign-ups require a membership to USA Lacrosse - This covers insurance. ($30) the link to US Lacrosse is accessible through our web registration at www.hudslax.com

LITTLE LEAGUE SPRING REGISTRATION
Hudsonville Little League Spring Registrations are now open.  For Boys 4-16 (as of 8-31-19) and Girls 4-16 (as of 12-31-18).  Deadline is January 12

Eligibility to play in Hudsonville LL is based on 1 of 3 criteria: home address, school address, or qualified waiver.

*All students attending (or with participating siblings attending) the following schools may play: Hudsonville HS, Riley St. MS, Jamestown Elem, South Elem, Park Elem, Forest Grove Elem, & Early Childhood Center

BAUER BITS 12/14/18

SOMETHING NEW FOR BAUER!
We are excited to launch our school social media pages!  To kick things off we produced our first "Learning Update" VLOG featuring happenings from around Bauer.  You will find the video at www.facebook.com/BauerElementary or on Twitter @BauerElementary.  With so much happening in our building the videos will be rather long so to help you see specific grade levels there are time stamps in the video description.  We will address audio quality moving forward but for the time being...ENJOY!

BAUER BITS 12/7/18

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 11 - BPC Jet's Pizza Night  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Bauer which will help fund activities, supplies, and events for our students.  When ordering, please tell them that you are from Bauer and your classroom teacher's name. This is a fun competition for a class pizza party!

HOLIDAY PROGRAM DVD
If you would like to purchase a DVD of the Bauer Holiday Program, please send $15.00 in an envelope to Bauer Office labeled Holiday DVD and your child's name by Friday, December 14.  (Checks made out to WCET-TV).

ELECTRONIC DEVICES REMINDER
Electronic devices such as iPods, iPads, Nooks, Kindles, handheld game systems, etc. are to be left at home.  If your student needs a cell phone at school, it must be turned off and remain in their backpack during school hours. Electronic devices are only permitted when they are used with classroom instruction and with explicit permission given by the classroom teacher.  If they are allowed for instruction, once that lesson is finished, the electronic device must return to the child’s backpack.

SECRET SANTA DONATIONS
