Logging into All the Right Type from home...

If you have computer access at home, we have recommended a couple of websites for your child to practice their typing skills on. Some of these sites can easily be located by going to the Hudsonville Public School Website homepage. Look for the link that reads Elementary Web Links
  1. Dance Mat Typing  http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/
  1. Typing Practice (lessons, games, and typing tests)http://www.freetypinggame.net )
  2. Bauer Elementary -  All the Right Type (student’s school username and password is needed)
* If you need Bauer’s school code it is: usamihudso274
It is very important that your child is using the correct fingering when they practice their typing so as not to fall into a bad habit of using the incorrect fingers.
Hudsonville Public Schools has set the following goals in keyboarding for your elementary child:
Fifth Grade has a typing goal of 20 words per minute by the end of the school year.
Fourth Grade has a typing goal of 15 words per minute by the end of the school year.
Third Grade has a typing goal of 10 words per minute by the end of the school year.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO HANG ART WORK

Our students have been busy learning wonderful new techniques and studying new artists during art class. They are creating fabulous artwork and we are eager to have these projects displayed. We are hoping you might consider helping with this! Our goal is to have a volunteer signed up for every Friday throughout the rest of the school year to help remove existing artwork from the hallway, and hang the new projects. We are asking you to consider even ONE Friday this year, or even one per month! This would be a tremendous help and would allow our students to really take pride in their awesome art! We have an organized system that will make this job very easy for you. Thank you for considering and for supporting our art program! Please email lmoss@hpseagles.net if you are interested.

Bauer Elementary Receives a Loving Gift

Bauer Elementary recently had a new addition to their playground thanks to a very caring church located right on Bauer Road. Hager Park Church raised funds and built a second Gaga Ball Pit for our students. The first pit was built last year and has continued to be a very popular place with the students. When Kids Hope Coordinator, Amy Beyer approached our school saying that there were members of her church who would be happy to help build anything if we needed it, the idea of a second Gaga Ball Pit was developed. However, Hager Park Church not only built the pit, they also raised the funds for it.

Hager Park Church has been a constant supporter of Bauer students. They provide Kids Hope Mentors for our students and do a Hand-to-Hand ministry that sends home food backpacks on Fridays for families in need. We so appreciate their love for our children and their desire to help meet their needs. So in this month of giving thanks we extend a huge thanks to Hager Park Church for all they do!
